I have decided to teach myself macrame. After a long walk to JoAnn, spending way too much money on something I don't yet know how to do, running into a friend while taking a shortcut through a parking lot because I forgot which shopping center the craft store was in (it was not that one)...
I have acquired hemp twine, paracord, a three inch metal ring, and a bag of beads, enough to cover a few experiments.
Current project: Knotted Mason Jar Lantern
General idea is to knot several pieces of twine together, forming a net to hold a small jar which can be used as a lantern or planter. Knowing me, I'll end up lighting the whole damn thing on fire. Don't worry, I'll keep the camera (and the fire extinguisher) nearby.
Current progress: Hot mess, at roughly 10% into it.

Conclusion:
Clearly, the ends need to be trimmed and hidden, uneven knots all over the damn place, but considering I hung an unlit (yet heavy) candle over the toilet because there was a random-ass hook in the ceiling, and nobody got a concussion... I consider this a success!
In the name of safety, I'm just going to burn that candle outside of the holder and put the jar back in as a planter. Ain't nobody got time for house fires when you're in the bathroom. Just sayin'!
